What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy or ‘physical therapy’ encompasses a huge variety of different specialities. At GCP we specialise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. This involves assessing, managing and treating various injuries, aches or pains. A variety of treatment options are used dependent on what is found from thorough assessment. Treatment methods can include: massage, exercise therapy, spinal mobilisations, mobilisation, strength and conditioning.
“Physiotherapists help people affected by injury, illness or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice. They maintain health for people of all ages, helping patients to manage pain and prevent disease. The profession helps to encourage development and facilitate recovery, enabling people to stay in work while helping them to remain independent for as long as possible.” (Chartered Society of Physiotherapy)
